The 4th Global Summit of Schools of Public Health took place in Accra, Ghana, 9 – 10 December 2012. Launched in 2008 as a joint initiative of the Association of Schools of Public Health in Europe (ASPHER) and its counterpart in Asia and the Pacific (APACPH), this global summit was eventually joined by the North American Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), the Alliance in South America (ALASAG) and the Association in Africa (ASPHA). The Summit took place in Taipei (2009), Amsterdam (2010), Washington DC (2011), and this year in Accra. EAGHA and ASPHER were represented by Antoine Flahault (EHESP, France) and Andy Haines (LSHTM, UK), co-chairs of ASPHER’s European Academic Global Health Alliance.
On Monday, December 10th, A Flahault presented the preliminary results of the international survey on global health objectives post 2015 which includes respondents from all major academic global health networks in the world. A Haines spoke about North-South collaboration in health systems research.
